Smithsonian Institution National Conference on Cultural Property Protection (Oct 18-19)
The Smithsonian Institution will be hosting a National Conference on Cultural Property Protection (NCCPP), which will be held virtually from October 18-19. The conference offers insight and proven solutions for new and seasoned professionals in the field of cultural property protection.
* Two of the presenters are past visiting scholars at MSP:
- Lonnie G. Bunch III – Secretary of the Smithsonian Institution (MSP visiting scholar 2015)
- Samuel J. Redman – Professor of History at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst (MSP visiting scholar 2019)
The Smithsonian founded NCCPP nearly 40 years ago. What started as a uniquely Smithsonian event now annually unites participants from museums and cultural properties around the nation and the world. The Smithsonian’s Heritage Preservation is a core strength with exemplary skills in security, facilities construction and management, risk assessment, and collections stewardship.
