Summary of Position
Tacoma Art Museum seeks an energetic and creative educator to re-imagine youth programming and engage our youngest audiences to build 21st century skills, empower youth voice, and cultivate empathy by connecting people through art. The Manager of Family and Elementary Initiatives serves as the museum’s expert on State, National, and Common Core Standards and other issues, policies, and programs that impact and affect schools and teachers. This position ensures that TAM is a contributing partner in community-wide collective impact efforts for graduation and youth readiness.
The Manager of Family and Elementary Initiatives reports to the Director of Education and Community Engagement to develop, conduct, and evaluate quality programs for family and elementary audiences. This position will increase and strengthen TAM’s out of school and summer youth program offerings; oversee all aspects of TAM Studio and family interpretation; and develop, implement, evaluate, and advance arts integration programs that meet the changing needs of Pre-K–5 teachers, students, and school administrators.
