Associate Educator, Adult Public Programs – Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art
The Associate Museum Educator, Adult Programs at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art is a position within Public Programs, in the Learning & Engagement Division, with a high degree of public and volunteer contact. The position develops and delivers a variety of accessible, inclusive, and innovative educational programs focused on the arts, nature and architecture, that actively engage the Museums adult audiences. This position will focus on the following adult programs: Lectures, Studio Classes, Films, Discover the Grounds, and Wellness programs. Additionally, the Associate Museum Educator will provide support and facilitation as needed for public programs in general, and the innovation and development of new, future public programs. The position requires strong public speaking skills, content planning, and organizational skills.
Principal Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
Plan and facilitate select programs on the museums roster of offerings for Adult Programming, including lectures, studio classes, virtual classes and talks, films, discover the grounds, and wellness programs.
Develop program content and goals that align with the museum mission.
Cultivate effective collaborative relationships with artists locally, in Crystal Bridges permanent and temporary exhibitions, institutions and organizations to help develop diverse and quality public programming.
Provide written program content as needed, and collaborate with the communications department for successful marketing, and creation of collateral materials.
Work with the members of the Learning & Engagement administration team and Special Events to coordinate facility needs, resources, supplies and registration for programs.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with Learning & Engagement team, curatorial, exhibitions, marketing, guest services, volunteer services, protection services, and all other necessary departments to present programming inspired by and interpreting the museums collections and exhibitions.
Assist in the creation of the public programs budget; manage program expenditures.
Consistently monitor/evaluate programs for effectiveness, impact, and improvement. Meaningfully reflect on past programs to help push museum program offerings forward.
Research new development on trends in audience engagement for adults and share knowledge with groups to inform programs.
