Administrative/Project Specialist – Institute for Museum and Library Services (Washington, DC)

Are you passionate about museums? This is your opportunity to be involved with national-level work related to museums and cultural institutions. The Office of Museum Services at IMLS is looking for an Administrative/Project Specialist  —someone who is extremely organized, very proficient with technology, loves to analyze, synthesize and consolidate information, can track and manage various special projects, is an enthusiastic learner and an excellent communicator.

 

Who is IMLS? The Institute for Museum and Library Services (IMLS) is a federal agency that helps ensure that all Americans have access to museum, library, and information services. We’re an independent grant-making agency and the primary source of federal support for the nation’s approximately 123,000 libraries and 35,000 museums. The Office of Museum Services administers museum grants, tracks trends and data both internal and external, holds convenings, disseminates information, and collaborates with a broad group of partners.

 

What’s the work? You will work on a variety of administrative and information gathering tasks as well as special projects. This position will collaborate with internal divisional and cross-departmental staff and communicate with external stakeholders. IMLS is looking for someone who loves fast-paced work, can handle multiple priorities and likes to be a creative problem-solver.
